The project «Esse In Esse Ad Esse Cum» was funded with the support of the European Union under the Programme "Europe for Citizens"

 

 

Participation: The project involved  more than 478 citizens, notably

300 participants from the city of  Uggiate-Trevano (Italy), 

29 participants from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany)

22 participants from the city of Halinga (Estonia)

21 participants from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania)

27 participants from the city of Ruaudin (France)

22 participants from the city of Rundale (Latvia)

25 participants from the city of Rypin (Polland)

32 participants from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta)

 


Location/ Dates: The event took place in  Uggiate-Trevano (Italy) from  the July, 7th 2016 to  July, 10th 2016

Short description: 

 

The day of July 7th was dedicated to the welcoming of the delegations and to the official opening of the event. In the evening, the youth camp, which was set up by the Italian Red Cross, was opened to all the young people involved in the event.

 

On July 8th all the delegations discussed and debated on the project theme, “Esse in Esse ad Esse cum”. Later in the same day, the delegations participated to a creative workshop on multiculturalism with the title “Differences unite” with a visit to the photo exhibition held in the Town Hall by the “Coordinamento Comasco per la Pace”. The evening was dedicated to a cultural event with music, dances and ethnic stands from all the countries involved in the project and opened not only to the delegations but also to all the citizens.

 

The day of the 9th of July was dedicated to the official twinning ceremony between Uggiate-Trevano and the municipalities of Halinga, Pakruojis, Rundale, Rypin e Tal-Pietà with the reading and signing of the oath of brotherhood by the mayors. Parade through Uggiate-Trevano, signing of the “Document of Uggiate-Trevano” and official lunch. Following, on the same day, the delegations participated to a conference with the title of “European Challenge”, while the youth from the eight municipalities discussed on the subjects of the civic commitment and voluntary work. The evening was dedicated to a festival concert opened to the whole community.

 

On the 10th of July the CRI youth camp was officially closed and the day was dedicated to a final discussion and to the salute of all the delegations.

Event 1: Official opening of the event

 

Participation: The event involved  238 citizens, including 60 participants from the city of Uggiate Trevano (Italy), 29 from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 22 from the city of Halinga (Estonia), 21 from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 27 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 22 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 25 from the city of Rypin (Poland), 32 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location / Dates: The event took place by the marquee in “ Europe Square” in Uggiate-Trevano (Italy) and then in the school area of Uggiate-Trevano on 7th July 2016.

 

Short description:  Official opening of the event, with the welcoming of all the Mayors and  of the delegations to the citizens of Uggiate-Trevano. On this occasion, the project was introduced and the its main objectives explained, together with the results foreseen. Following, on the same day, the youth camp set up by the Red Cross was officially opened near the school park. 

 

Event 2 "Esse In. Esse Ad. Esse cum.": meaning, thoughts and personal experience

                                                       

Participation: : The event involved  32 citizens, including 4 participants from the city of Uggiate Trevano (Italy), 4 from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 4 from the city of Halinga (Estonia), 4 from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 4 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 4 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 4 from the city of Rypin (Poland), 4 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location / Dates: The event took place in the Multipurpose Hall of Uggiate-Trevano (Italy) on 8th July 2016

 

Short description:  The aim of the event was to discuss and debate about the project themes. 1. "Esse In": gaining awareness of themselves to achieve a better relationship with others. 2. "Esse Ad", create relationships based on true solidarity and true reciprocity. 3. "Esse Cum", start building the future of  Europe.

The event put also the focus on some direct personal experience: people in charge  of the refugee center in Lampedusa and migrants hosted in our territory  who obtained the residency permit for humanitarian reasons or are still waiting for recognition. After that the “Document of Uggiate-Trevano” a commitment for the future which will be signed by all the partners, was put in writing.

Event 3: Workshop entitled “The differences unite” and visit to the photo exhibitions

                                                                            

Participation: The event involved  478 citizens, including 300 participants from the city of Uggiate Trevano (Italy), 29 from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 22 from the city of Halinga (Estonia), 21 from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 27 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 22 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 25 from the city of Rypin (Poland), 32 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location / Dates: The event took place in the Multipurpose Hall of Uggiate-Trevano (Italy), and later at the Town Hall and at the Secondary grade School, on 8th July 2016

 

Short description:  during the event  the theme of multiculturalism was debated, each delegation brought its  experience. All the participants and citizens visited the photo exhibition set up at the Town Hall by the “Coordinamento Comasco per la Pace” and the exhibition of paintings made by the young students of the Primary and Secondary School about the subject “What does Europe mean to you?”.

 

Event 4: Multicultural Evening

 

Participation: The event involved 1278 citizens, including 1100 participants from the city of Uggiate Trevano (Italy), 29 from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 22 from the city of Halinga (Estonia), 21 from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 27 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 22 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 25 from the city of Rypin (Poland), 32 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

Location / Dates: The event took place by the marquee in “ Europe Square” in Uggiate-Trevano (Italy) on 8yh July 2016.

 

Short Description: during the event based on the meeting of different cultures and traditions of the European countries. People have been involved in popular dances, traditional music, ethnic stands opened to the whole community. Associations of immigrants living in the Province of Como coming from Africa, Asia and Middle East also took part with their own stands

 

Event 5 Official Signature of the Town-Twinning Agreements

                                                               

Participation: the event involved 678 people, 500 of them coming from the city of Uggiate-Trevano (Italy), 29 from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 22 from the city of haling (Estonia), 21 from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 27 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 22 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 25 from the city of Rypin (Poland), 32 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location/Date: the event took place by the marquee of “Europe Square” in Uggiate-Trevano on 9th July 2016.

Short description: the event was dedicated to the official signature of the town-twinning agreements between Uggiate-Trevano and the Municipalities of Halinga, Pakruojis, Rundale, Rypin and Tal-Pietà. On that occasion the respective Mayors read and signed the fraternity oaths and their representative speeches. The Regional President of AICCRE Lombardy, Dr. Luciano Valaguzza also made his contribution.

 

Event 6 Conference “European Challenge” and Signature of the “Document of Uggiate-Trevano”

 

Participation: the event involved 32 citizens,4 of them coming from the city of Uggiate-Trevano (Italy), 4 coming from the city of Adelsdorf (Germany), 4 from the city of Halinga (Estonia), 4 coming from the city of Pakruojis (Lithuania), 4 from the city of Ruaudin (France), 4 from the city of Rundale (Latvia), 4 coming from the city of Rypin (Poland), 4 from the city of Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location/Dates: the event took place in the Polifunctional Hall of Uggiate-Trevano on 9th July 2016.

Short description: speeches of territorial authorities about the themes of the project: multiculturalism, migration, citizen engagement in the democratic process and centrality of volunteering. Observations, debate and signature of “Document of Uggiate-Trevano”, a formal commitment to solidarity approved by the Mayors of the eight municipalities. Afterwards the “Document of Uggiate-Trevano” was signed by all the citizens of Uggiate-Trevano and the involved municipalities.

 

Event 7: Closing Session

 

Participation: the event involved 448 citizens, 270 from Uggiate-Trevano (Italy), 29 from Adelsdorf (Germany), 22 from Halinga (Estonia), 21 from Pakruojis (Lithuania), 27 from Ruaudin (France), 22 from Rundale (Latvia), 25 from Rypin (Poland), 32 from Tal-Pietà (Malta).

 

Location/Dates: the event took place in the Youth Camp in the school area of Uggiate-Trevano on 10th July 2016.

 

Short description: final summary of the project and evaluation of the results, confirmation of the will to continue and carry forward the established commitments in each Country. Confirmation of the indissolubility of the signed twinning. Afterwards, delegations’greetings and official closing of the event.
